Month of March “Community Kindness Award”

We are looking for Kind Person to acknowledge for the

Month of March

Community Kindness Award

Do you know a kind person making a difference in their community?

Kind Works seeks to recognize outstanding humans who demonstrate exceptional kindness and contribute positively to their communities. This ongoing initiative will acknowledge recipients multiple times each year through a transparent and inclusive nomination and committee selection process.

The Goal of this Initiative

Recognizing individuals for their kindness serves an essential role: it highlights positive actions, motivating others to observe and replicate generous and compassionate behavior.

Such acknowledgment affirms the significance of kind gestures, demonstrating that these efforts are valued. This recognition not only enhances the morale of honorees but also inspires others, contributing to a ripple effect that benefits families, neighborhoods, and broader communities. By celebrating acts of kindness, we nurture a culture where empathy and gratitude become integral, strengthening connections and a sense of belonging. Appreciation of good deeds further encourages ongoing kindness, sustaining an environment of goodwill that uplifts all involved.

Kind Works:

  • We will acknowledge the recipient with a small ceremony, featuring the recipient and the person who nominated them. Members of their family and community will be invited as well. And we will present the recipient with Kindness gifts created by Kind Works volunteers.

  • We will encourage community involvement by promoting nominations and supporting recognition of awardees.

How to get involved and what is the process

  • If you know a kind person that is making a difference in their community, please fill out this brief application.

  • Share this form with people in your community and help spread the word so that we can all be on the lookout to celebrate kind acts and kind people.

  • Kind Works will receive applications throughout the year and will plan on acknowledging someone roughly every 4 months with a goal of having 4 individuals acknowledged from October 2025- October 2026.

Bethel Mural Project - Community Tile Making

Bethel Mural Project - Community Tile Making

Be a part of this legacy project

Kind Works is inviting our community to help create a public kindness mural that will beautify Bethel and serve as a powerful, lasting reminder that kindness belongs to all of us. Community murals don’t just decorate a space — they bring people together, strengthen connection, and inspire everyday acts of kindness.

With a donation of $25, get involved during this hands-on tile-making workshop, you’ll work with clay to create pieces that will become part of the finished mosaic mural. Every tile represents a person, a story, and a shared commitment to building a kinder community together.

  • No experience needed

  • All ages welcome

  • Create and connect alongside neighbors, families, and friends

This mural will be created with the community, by the community, through tile-making, painting, and installation days that allow everyone to take part in the process and feel represented in the final artwork.

Your participation helps turn kindness into something visible — a place where future generations can look and remember what Bethel stands for.

Learn more or support the mural here:

Let’s build kindness together, one tile at a time.

250th Anniversary of the Signing of Declaration of Independence Event

250th Anniversary of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence Event

"Pay it forward project"

Kind Works, in collaboration with the Bethel 250 Committee', is joining communities around the nation to commemorate, celebrate, and reflect upon how the founding ideals continue to affect our lives.

Pay it Forward Details:

  • When: Wednesday, February 25th from 4pm-6pm
  • Where: Kind Works Bethel Studio
  • Drop in: no sign up required
  • What: Community Members will be invited to come to the Bethel Studio and work on a special kindness pay it forward campaign by making special ornaments that will be used for tools of kindness.
  • Why: This free, inclusive, community project represents Kind Works mission and also speaks to the power and ideals when a community comes together to help each other. At Kind Works, we believe the most powerful revolutions are the ones led by kindness — one person, one action, one community at a time. "
  • Check out other upcoming events in the area: Bethel 250 Event Calendar

What the Declaration of Independence Teaches Us About Kindness

When our Founders wrote, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal…” they were doing more than shaping a nation — they were recognizing the shared humanity that binds us all.

While the word kindness never appears in the Declaration, its spirit runs through every line. The belief that each person deserves life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is, at its core, an act of kindness — a recognition of dignity, equality, and compassion. Kindness isn’t just a personal act; it’s a principle that guides how we build community, how we lead, and how we care for one another. The Declaration reminds us that true freedom isn’t found in independence alone — it’s found in our interdependence, in lifting each other up so that everyone can thrive.

Random Acts of Kindness Day

Random Acts of Kindness Day

Pick Up Kindness. Pass It On.

Free Kindness Token

Visit the Kind Works Community Studio

• Receive a free kindness token
• Learn about upcoming community events and programs
• Discover ways to get involved, volunteer, or attend future experiences

Free Kindness Tokens • A Week Filled with Kindness • A Meaningful Way to Support Kind Works

Kind Works invites our community to take part in a simple but powerful act: pick up a free kindness token and pass it on.

During our Random Acts of Kindness Campaign, anyone who visits the Kind Works Community Studio will receive a free, special custom-color kindness token handcrafted by students in our Kind Works Afterschool Program. Each token represents creativity, empathy, and the belief that small acts can create meaningful ripple effects throughout our community.

Why Kindness Tokens Matter

These kindness tokens are made by local students who are learning about compassion, connection, and the power of their actions. When you accept a token, you are:

• Supporting youth creativity and leadership
• Helping spread kindness throughout the community
• Reinforcing that young people’s voices and actions matter

Each token is a reminder that kindness can be shared, carried, or gifted — and that every small act has the power to make a difference.

Share the Story – Spread the Ripple

Kindness grows when it’s shared.

We invite you to:
• Take a photo of your kindness token
• Share how you used it or where it traveled
• Tag Kind Works or send us your story

By sharing your experience, you help amplify the impact of youth-driven kindness and show how simple actions can strengthen our community.

Our after-school students have also spent the past month decorating coffee sleeves for local coffee shops, because the smallest surprises can create the biggest ripple of kindness

A Busy Week of Kindness

Leading up to and following Random Acts of Kindness Day, Kind Works will be active throughout the community:

2/3/2026 – Kindness talk for a Realtor group

2/7/2026 – Hosting a volunteer group of Girl Scouts

2/11/2026 – Elementary school assembly (Avon)

2/11/2026 – Community Kindness Award presentation

2/12/2026 – Assembly at local High School

2/15/2026 – Launching the Bethel Community Mural Campaign

2/17/2026 – Random Acts of Kindness Day

2/20/2026 – Special community evening at the studio

Support Kind Works – Keep Kindness Open Year-Round

If you would like to support Kind Works and our efforts to spread kindness, please consider supporting our “Keep Kindness Open Year-Round” Fundraiser.

Your support helps cover the cost of our Community Art Studio, including rent and utilities. More importantly, it allows us to focus more on creating impact and less on fundraising — ensuring kindness continues to thrive in our community all year long.

Big shout out to The Hills Family Foundation on behalf of William Hills Jacobs for their generous donation and for becoming our inaugural studio sponsor. They not only sponsored our studio for the entire month of February but also contributed additional funds to help cover the cost of our clay supplies, supporting our hands-on programs and creative community.

“Thank you for allowing us to focus more on our mission and programming and less on raising money to allow us to continue to make a difference. This is the greatest way to support us!!! ”

World Kindness Day Event

🌍 World Kindness Day

Join Kind Works this World Kindness Day as we launch our “Pay It Forward” Campaign — a day dedicated to giving, awareness, and action.

This initiative is designed to uplift our communities through kindness, inspire meaningful connections, and support the programs that keep kindness growing all year long.

Through the simple act of giving and sharing, we can create ripples of compassion that reach far beyond a single day.

Let’s make World Kindness Day stand out — because the way we share kindness tells our story, and our story matters.

Together, we can build a kinder community — one bell, one act, one person at a time.

3% Cover the Fee

In support of Kind Works Inc, "Kindness Programming"

What Is World Kindness Day?

World Kindness Day was established in 1998, and is intended to highlight positive actions in the community focused on our bonds with each other. In addition, it’s designed to bridge the distances between all kinds of differences—and encourage unity and empathy across people and groups.

How You Can Help

We're calling on our community to come together and support our mission by:

  • Making a donation to Kind Works Inc. to help expand our kindness-based programs.

  • Spreading awareness of our cause through social media and word-of-mouth.

  • Participating in our Kind Works Bell Distribution — a unique way to "pay it forward" and spread kindness in your own neighborhood.

Kind Works Bell Distribution

We will be distributing our Kind Works Bells from 12:00–6:00 PM at the Bethel Studio.
Community members are invited to pick up a bell and hang it in a public space on World Kindness Day as a visible reminder to “pay kindness forward.”

Distribution will be managed on a first-come, first-served basis, and we encourage participants to place their bells in locations where others can discover and be inspired by these beautiful symbols of kindness and connection.

✨ What Is a Kind Works Bell?

Our Kind Works Bells are the most meaningful creations our volunteers make — each one a symbol of kindness, community, and connection.

Crafted by hand at our Bethel Studio, these bells are assembled with care, using beads made by volunteers who share a passion for spreading kindness. Every bell tells a story, and once it's placed in a public space, it’s meant to be discovered, passed along, or re-hung to inspire others.

We’ve heard countless stories of how finding a bell has touched lives — whether it's been a small reminder of hope or the perfect gift to brighten someone's day.

When you hang or share a bell, you’re spreading kindness and keeping the ripple of goodwill going.

About the show…

Life is Good®: Optimism Over Adversity by Steve Gross, Founder & Chief Playmaker of the Life is Good Playmaker Project

Steve Gross has dedicated his career to leading healing efforts in communities impacted by trauma. His unique approach, called the Playmaker Practice, emphasizes joy, social connection, optimism, engagement and control – all elements that serve as the foundation for every healthy community. The lessons he learned in the field now helps organizations across the globe grow through challenging and uncertain times, emerging stronger, more connected, and joyful than they were before.

As Steve says – professional development sprouts from personal development.

Steve’s talk speaks to the individual – with tools on filling up their cup, building life-changing relationships and connecting with their deeper purpose. His unique approach to engaging audiences in learning sparks a real-time understanding of an individual’s role in fostering positive culture, leadership and customer experience.

Steve’s high energy, humor, and simple delivery of these deep, life-altering ideas leave audiences feeling inspired and empowered to leverage the power of optimism in their personal and professional lives.

The Woodstock Music Festival was the ultimate rock concert, a celebration of peace, love and music. Now, more than fifty years later, let Edmond Town Hall help you create your own Woodstock Event at Back To The Garden 1969!

Formed by Gary Adamson in 2009, this is a group of versatile musicians and singers who have come together to celebrate the music, and spirit, of the Woodstock Era.

The Music:

The band recreates the classic sounds associated with Woodstock. The musical performances are a tribute to the artists who made Woodstock great, including Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Jimi Hendrix, Sly &The Family Stone, Jefferson Airplane, Santana, Joe Cocker, Janis Joplin, The Band, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Canned Heat, Ten Years After, The Who, Mountain, Richie Havens, Melanie, Arlo Guthrie, Blood, Sweat & Tears, The Grateful Dead, Country Joe & The Fish,…and more!

The Experience:

BTTG 1969 brings you a full multimedia theatrical event, recreating the Woodstock Experience through period costuming, lighting, video, and sound bites. Storytelling also enhances the mood, with tales of the festival, the legendary artists who performed, and the backdrop of the tumultuous decade of the 60’s.

Not your typical tribute band!

Most tribute bands perform the music of only one artist.

BTTG 1969 is a tribute to a very special moment in time, and to the many artists whose music will forever be known as “Classic Rock.” From nostalgic Baby Boomers to intrigued Gen Z’ers, and all those in between, there is something in this show for EVERYONE!

So, grab your tie dye and love beads…and celebrate Woodstock!
