Kind Works Pilot Afterschool Program
For 4th & 5th Grade Students in Greater Bethel Area
With High School Mentors (Grades 9–12)
Program Overview
• Grades: 4th & 5th in greater Bethel area
• Dates/Time: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4–5pm (and optional Homework Club 5–5:30pm)
• Location: Kind Works Studio, 32 Stony Hill Rd, Ste E, Bethel
• Cost: FREE
• Staffing: Professional educators, artists & high school mentors
• Snack included
Students will:
✅ Learn social-emotional intelligence & kindness skills
✅ Participate in art projects with real meaning
✅ Build friendships with peers and high school mentors

Program Themes
Each class combines a Kindness Lesson + Art Project:
• Ripple Effect of Kindness → Kindness Tokens
• Gratitude → Custom Stepping Stone
• Self-Kindness → Awareness Bracelet
• Kindness to Others → Collaborative Necklace
Pilot Session Schedule
• Oct. 28 - Nov 20, Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4–5pm (Homework Club option 5–5:30pm)• Winter session TBD
Staffing & Mentorship
• Directed by Cody Foss, Kind Works Executive Director, 20+ years of youth programming
• Taught by Meg Jones, elementary teacher in the New Milford school system for over 4 years
• High school mentors who foster connection, respect, empathy, gratitude & joy
