Murals

Let us help you create a legacy of Kindness! Having our team build a custom mural is a great way to beautify your community or campus and create a visual reminder of Kindness.  During the creation of the mural, participants (in a small group setting) will receive hands-on experience working with clay to create pieces that will forever be a part of their community.  Adult volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in the mural installation, where they will learn the mosaic technique and work together as a team to complete the mural.

We offer a ‘Be Kind’ Mural, Kindness Tree Mural, Inspire Kindness Mural and Custom Mural of your choice.

Time Lapse Video of an installation

Thank you to Kind Works for helping us create such an amazing Be Kind mural! Kind Works was there every step of the way sharing their knowledge and guiding us through the process of creating and painting the tiles and installing the mural at our school. The students and staff at our school all shared a part in making this beautiful and meaningful mural. The volunteers from Kind Works were wonderful and radiated positivity as they helped us throughout the year. Such a special group of people! I am very happy with the mural and the smiles on the students’ and teachers’ faces show the impact this mural already has had on our school community. Thank you again!

Mural Process and Next Steps

Decide the design for the mural you want to install... Secure the required deposit and confirm that the area you have chosen for your mural meets the criteria below.  Once you have paid the deposit, we will send you a mural agreement and an invoice and we will move forward with scheduling the dates for both the tile-making workshop and the installation.

Choose your Location

Murals can be installed either indoor or outdoor, but indoor murals have several advantages:

  • Protection from seasonal weather

  • Increased flexibility with scheduling as we CAN instal during the winter months

If necessary, the mural size may be adjusted to fit the wall, however no discounts will be provided for smaller murals due to the size of the wall available for installation.

The wall needs to be a flat surface made of brick or concrete.  We can also work with sheetrock walls on an indoor mural.  Any adjustments or improvements deemed necessary by Kind Works to the surface of the wall is the responsibility of the school/organization commissioning the mural. This includes, but is not limited to: re-texturing the wall surface, installing Hardiebacker, etc.

The wall must be accessible to the volunteers that will be assisting in the installation.

It is also the responsibility of the organization/school commissioning the mural to secure any necessary permits required for the installation of the mural.

Payment Information

  • Kind Works requires a deposit of 50% of the total cost to schedule installation and start the process.  Forms of payment accepted include: cash, credit card and check.

  • The balance is due within 7 business days following mural completion.

  • The cost of the mural may be adjusted for travel expenses dependent on roundtrip distance from the Kind Works studio located at 32 Stony Hill Rd, Bethel, CT.

You are welcome to fundraise to pay for your mural, however, please be aware that Kind Works may not provide fundraising assistance.  Any fundraising efforts must clearly state that funding is to support your school/organization.  Entities outside of Kind Works may not use Kind Works logos for monetary gain. Mural payments received by Kind Works are considered transactions for a program fee.
